r ~ ~F r <br />R .~ <br />ORDINANCE N0. 842 ' <br />~~ ~ AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CERTAIN LAND NOW IN THE CORPORATE <br />'_ LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, AS AN INDUSTRIAL <br />DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS "BAYPORT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />OF LA PORTS, TEXAS"; RESERVING AND PRESERVING ALL RIGHTS, <br />POWERS AND DUTIES OTHER6VISE REPOSING BY LAW IN THE CITY <br />COMMISSION OF LA PORTS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />WHEREAS, it is the established policy of the City <br />Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas, to adopt such <br />reasonable measures from time to time as are permitted by <br />law and which will tend to enhance the economic stability <br />and growth of the City and its environs by attracting the <br />location of new and the expansion of old industries therein; <br />and <br />~..-.. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte <br />after due and careful consideration has heretofore deter- <br />mined that it is in the public interest to disannex the land <br />described in Ordinance No. 841, passed and approved January 5, <br />1970, and to discontinue the corporate limits of the City of <br />La Porte as to such land, and to adopt this Ordinance No. 842 <br />pursuant to Section 5, Article I, of the Municipal Annexation <br />Act and to designate that part of the land hereinafter <br />described as an industrial district; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTS: <br />Section 1. That portion of the hereinafter described <br />territory which has been disannexed by Ordinance No. 841, <br />passed and approved on January 5, 1970, and any portion of <br />the hereinafter described territory which may hereinafter be <br />disannexed by the City of La Porte, is hereby designated an <br />industrial district of the City of La Porte, to-wit: <br />Bounded on the North by Fairmont Parkway; on the <br />West by the West line of the William M. Jones <br />Survey, A-482; on the South by the South line of <br />the William M. Jones Survey, A-482, and also the <br />South line of the Richard Pearsall Survey, A-625, <br />same being also the North line of the George B. <br />McKinstry Survey, A-47; and on the East by the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way and including <br />also La Porte Outlots 161 through 170-1/2, both <br />inclusive, out of the Richard Pearsall Survey, <br />A-625. <br />
