ORDINANCE NO. l333-A AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1333, "AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAX- ATION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY GOVERN- MENT OF SAID CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF." BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1333, passed and approved September 15, 1982, is hereby amended, and shall here- . after read as follows, to-wit: "Section 1. That there is hereby levied for the cur- rent fiscal year beginning October l, 1982, and ending September 30, 1983, on all real property situated and all personal property owned wi th in the taxable 1 imi ts of the said City of La Porte, Texas, on the first day of January, 1982, except so much as may be exempt under the Constitution and laws of the United States, this State and the City of La Porte, the following taxes: "( 1) An Ad Valorem Tax of and at the rate of five three four nine ei ht ($.53498) cents on the one un re ( 00.00 do ars cas va ue thereof, estimated in lawful currency of the United States for the current expenses for the support, main- tenance, and improvement of the City Government of said City of La Porte, Texas. " " (2) An Ad Valorem Tax of and at the rate of one eight five zero two ($.18502) cents on the one hundred ($100.00) dollars cash value thereof, estimated in lawful currency of the United States, to pay current interest on and provide one year's sink- ing fund and to pay all of the principal and interest accruing on all outstanding bonds law- fully issued by the City of La Porte, Texas. II Section 2. Ordinance No. 1333, as hereby amended, shall remain in full force and effect. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. ,
