<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />I'I"I.~ <br />ORDINANCE NO. _~-.J <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DENYING THE APPLICATION OF HOUSTON LIGHTING & POWER <br />COMPANY FOR AUTHORITY TO CHANGE RATES TO BE CHARGED IN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW: AND PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June IS, 1984, Houston Lighting & Power Company <br />(lithe Company") filed with the City of La Porte, Texas, an <br />application for authority to change rates to be charged within <br /> <br />the City: and <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, having reviewed the Company's <br /> <br />rate filing package and supporting testimony, is of the opinion <br /> <br />that the rate application should be denied in all particulars: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section I. That the City Council of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />denies the application of the Company for authority to change <br /> <br />rates to be charged within the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />Section 2. That this Ordinance constitutes the final action <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte in determining the rates for sale of <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />electric power and energy by the Company within the City in <br /> <br />accordance with the Public Utility Regulatory Act, Texas Revised <br /> <br />Civil Statutes Annotated, Article 1446c, Section 43(f). <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Council orders the Company to <br /> <br />continue in effect the rates set forth in rate schedules pre- <br /> <br />viously made effective for sale of electric power and energy <br /> <br />within the City until such time as said rate schedules may be <br />changed, modified, amended or withdrawn as provided by law. <br />Section 4. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br /> <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the <br /> <br />date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City <br />e Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the <br />Ci ty Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding <br />
