<br />.-, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ordinance 1501-J, Page 3 <br /> <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was <br />posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the <br />City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as <br />required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised <br />Civil Statutes Annotated~ and that this meeting has been open to <br />the public as required by law at all times during which this <br />ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, <br />considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further <br />ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the <br />contents and posting thereof. <br />Section 8. Any person, firm or corporation in violation of <br />any of the provisions of this ordinance or by reference of <br />Ordinance No. 1501, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of La Porte, <br />or any amendments thereto, including this ordinance shall be deemed <br />guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined <br />in the sum not more than $1,000.00. Each day such violation <br />continues shall constitute a separate offense. <br />In case in building or structure is erected, constructed, <br />reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted or maintained, or any <br />buildin~, structure, or land is used in violation of the general <br />law or the terms of this ordinance, the City of La Porte, in <br />addition to imposing the penalty above provided, may institute any <br />appropriate action or proceedings in court to prevent such unlawful <br />erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, <br />conversion, maintenance or use, to restrain, correct or abate such <br />violation, or to prevent the occupancy of such building, structure <br />or land, to prevent the illegal act, conduct, business or use, in <br />or about such land~ and the definition of any violation of the <br />terms of this ordinance as a misdemeanor, shall not preclude the <br />City of La Porte from invoking the civil remedies given it by law <br />in such cases, including collection of reasonable attorney fees and <br />court costs, but same shall be cumulative of and in addition to the <br />penalties prescribed for such violation. <br />
