Joined the U. S. Installed telephone, <br />'television~ and telegraph equipment for Western Electric <br />before mbving to Houston in 1951. <br /> <br />Began career in Houston as a prize-winning salesman for the <br />Prudential Insurance Co., and was a million-dollar <br />Roundtable producer during the first 'two years. <br /> <br />Resident of the <br />North Shore area <br /> <br />C h ann e I V i el./J <br />fClr 10 ye<'.:'\Y'~:; <br /> <br />area for six years, and the <br />prior fo moving to Seabrook. <br /> <br />Resident of Seabrook since 1972. <br /> <br />Married to Alice <br />grandchildren. <br /> <br />Ta!::lIIJI^ <br /> <br />( '+0 years) , <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />children, <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Member of Lakewood Yacht Club 15 years. <br /> <br />BUSINESS BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Afte~ Just tWD years in Houston with the Prudential <br />Insurance Company, it became evident that Houston was <br />destined to become one of the nation's leading cities, and <br />that the construction industry would be a vital part of the <br />city's economy. <br /> <br />Began selling compressed gases and welding suppli~s for the <br />Chemtron Corp. in, 1953, cmd joined Gulf O:,:ygen Co. as a <br />partner in 1956 prior to becoming sole owner and President <br />of the company in 1960. <br /> <br />GULF OXYGEN CO., Inc. has two locations, one in Galena Park, <br />and one in Deer Park. The company i~ a leading supplier of <br />compressed gases, welding equipment and supplies to the <br />construction ind~stry, plants, and fabrication companies <br />throughout Harris County. . <br /> <br />Vice President and part owner of Taylor Portable Buildings, <br />Inc., Deer Park, Texas, a sales and rental outlet for <br />modular aluminum office buildings. <br />
