Baytown <br />was the first channel city to convert to surface water, <br />which has had a great effect on stopping subsidence in the <br />Baytown area. <br /> <br />Appointed by United States Attomey General ltleese to be <br />a representative on the People to People Citizens <br />Ambassador Program, which is a program designed to have <br />certain lawyers and other professional men meet with <br />Chinese counterparts in Beijing (Peking) China for the <br />purpose of working mutually acceptable laws and catmerce <br />trade arrangements beneficial to the United States and <br />the Republic of China. <br /> <br />It is felt that this program may inure to the benefit of <br />the Port of Houston. <br /> <br />SUptX>rted and worked to pass bond issues for the City <br />of BaytcMn since approximately 1953. <br /> <br />Supported. and worked to pass bond issues for Goose Creek <br />Consolidated Independent School District. <br /> <br />My law firm acted as bond counsel for Goose Creek <br />Consolidated Independent School District for many years. <br /> <br />Strong emphasis on support of bond issue for Baytown <br />Area Water Authority and appearance before bond rating <br />ccmpani.es in New York City for the purpose of securing <br />favorable bond rating. <br /> <br />CIVIC N:}RK: Vice President of Baytown Jr. Chamber of Ccmnerce. <br /> <br />Distinguished service Award, Young Man, 1951. <br /> <br />President, ~ytown Chamber of Carmerce, 1960-1961. <br />President, BaytcMn Lions Club. <br />Board of Directors, Friends of The Baytown Public Library. <br />Distinguished Service Award, Senior Citizen, '1968. <br />Ccmnander, American legion Post 323. <br />
