With regard to the water and sewer systems pre- sently being constructed within the District by the Dis- trict, the City shall operate such water and s~er systems when such systems are completed. With regard to the wate~ and sewer systems presently being purchased by the Di.- trict, the City shall operate such systems from and after the date of the completion of the purchase of such systema by the District. For the convenience of the District and of the . City, the City shall designate one of its employees as the person with Whom the District may communicate in regard to the operation of the District's water and sewer systema, under the terms of thi. contract. This contract shall r~in in full force and effect until such time as the City annexes the District, or until either of the parties gives written notice, as hereinafter provided, to the other party, and in any event, this contract shall expire at midnight, December 31, - 1967. Bither party hereto may declare this contract null and void by giving written notice thereof to the other party. Such notice shall become effective on the c10.. of the 30th day after the party so cancelling this con- tract has deposited such notice in the united 8ute. _i1, properly stamped and addressed to the other party hereto, or baa delivered such notice (in the event the District is the cancelling party) to the City Clerk of the City, and (in the event the City is the cancelling party) to the Secretary of the Board of Supervisors of the District.
