SCHOOL DISTRICTS ONLY: Complete the Texas Education <br />Agency's worksheet entitled Worksheet to Assist Districts <br />in Calculating Rollback Rate for either a Education Code Chapter 41 <br />or 42 school district. Enter amount on line 32 of the TEA worksheet for <br />a Chapter 42 district. Enter amount on line 20 of the TEA worksheet for <br />Chanter 41 district. <br />19. 1999 adjusted taxable value. <br />A. Enter line 22 from the effective tax rate <br />worksheet; school districts. enter line 18; if a <br />school district did not complete the Effective Tax <br />Rate Worksheet, the school district does the <br />following steps (1) to (4) below. <br />(1) Total 1999 taxable value on the 1999 <br />certified appraisal roll today. This value <br />includes only cerfied values and includes the <br />ta.xable value of over-65 homesteads with <br />school tax ceilings. Include also the taxable <br />value in reinvestment zone, but remember <br />that the unit will deposit a portion of the <br />taxes to a special tax increment fund. <br />(2) Total 1999 taxable value of properties <br />under protest. The chief appraiser certifies <br />a list of properties still under ARB protest. <br />The list shows the district's value and the <br />taxpayer's claimed value, if any, or an <br />estimate of the value if the taxpayer wins. <br />For each oftheproperties under protest, use <br />the lowest of these values. Enter the total <br />here. <br />(3) 1999 taxable value of over-65 homesteads <br />with tax ceilings. <br />(4) 1999 taxable value. Add lines (1) and (2) <br />and subtract (3) and enter above at A. <br />B. School districts: Subtract the 1999 captured <br />appraised value of real property taxable by the <br />school district in a tax increment financing <br />zone for which the 1999 taxes will be <br />deposited into the tax increment fund; other <br />units, enter "0." <br /> <br />C. Subtract B from A: <br /> <br />30. 1999 calculated maintenance and operations rate. Divide line 27F by line 29C and <br />multiply by 100. School districts: Divide line 28 by line 29C and multiply by 100 <br />(per $100). <br /> <br />31. 1999 rollback maintenance and operation rate. County, cities and others: <br />Multiply line 30 by 1.08.
