SubsranriDl Complerion-The Work (or a speciiied <br />part thereof) has progressed to the point where. in the opinion <br />of ENGINEER as evidenced by ENGINEER's dcfinitive <br />certificate of Substantial Completion. it is sufficiently com- <br />plctc. in ac:ordance with the Contract Doc:uments. so that the <br />Work (or specified part) can be uulized for thc purposes for <br />which it is intcnded; or if no such certificate is issued. when the <br />Work is complete and ready for final payment as cvidenc::d by <br />ENGINEER's wrinen recommendation of final payment in <br />accordance with paragraph 14.13. The terms "substantiaDy <br />completc" and "substantially completed" as applied to all or <br />part of the Work refer to Substantial Completion thereof. <br /> <br />1.39. Supplementary Conditions-The part of the C.ontract <br />Documents which amends or supplements these General C0n- <br />ditions. <br /> <br />1.40. Supplier-A manufacture:. fabricator. supplier. dis- <br />tnDutor. materialman or vendor having a direct contract with <br />eON'nACTOR or with any Subcontractor to furnish materi- <br />als or equipment to be incorporated in thc Work by eON- <br />TRACI'OR or any Subcontractor. <br /> <br />1.41. Underground Faci1ities-AJI pipelines. conduits. ducts. <br />cables. wires. manholes. vaults. tanks. tunncls or other such <br />faCIlities or aaachments. and any encasements containing such <br />f'aC1lities which have been instal1ed undcrground to furnish any <br />of the fOllowing services or materials: electricity. gases, steam. <br />liquid petroleum products. telephone or other communica- <br />tions. cable television. sewage and drainage removal. traiIic or <br />other control systems or water. <br /> <br />1.42.
