Voting shall take place on election day between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M at the <br />regular voting precincts and at the polling places. as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof as if copied in full. such precincts being the same as those precincts in elections within the City on May 4. <br />1996~ May 3. 1997~ and May 2. 1998. <br /> <br />Section 4. The Presiding ludge of each precinct shall appoint not less than two qualified election clerks to <br />serve and assist in conducting said election~ provided. however. that if the Presiding ludge actually serves as <br />expected. the Alternate Presiding ludge shall be one of such clerks. <br /> <br />Section S. Early voting shall be conducted by personal appearance and by mail or other lawful means. <br />There shall be one early voting place. to-wit: La Porte City Hall. 604 West Fainnont Parkway. La Porte. Texas <br />77571. Martha Gillett is appointed Presiding ludge of the Early Voting Ballot Board and early voting clerk. and <br />such person shall appoint two early voting clerks. The hours designated for early voting by personal appearance <br />shall be on December 30. 1998 through lanuary 12. 1999. beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Early voting by <br />mail shall be to the above address. Early voting by personal appearance shall be conducted on the weekdays of the <br />early voting period and during the hours that the City Secretaly's main business office is regularly open for <br />business. <br /> <br />Section 6. The City Council Conference Room at the La Porte City Hall is hereby established as the <br />Central Counting Station to receive ballots for said election. the ballots to be tabulated and returned to the Office of <br />the City SecretaIy. Martha A. Gillett is hereby appointed the Presiding Manager for said Central Counting <br />Station. <br /> <br />Section 7. All resident. qualified electors of the City shall be entitled to vote at said election. <br /> <br />Section 8. In all respects said election shall be conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code. <br /> <br />Section 9. Notice of said election shall be given by posting a notice containing a substantial copy of this <br />Ordinance at the City Hall and at least three other public places in the City not less than 21 days prior to the date <br />upon which said election is to be held. and by publication of said notice in the Bayshore Sun. a newspaper of <br />general circulation published in the City. on the same day in each of two successive weeks. the date of the first <br /> <br />3 <br />
