THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; That under the authority granted by Section 6.03(i) the City Couridl. (Governing body) of the City of Seabrook (Taxing unit) hereby elects to proceed with the selection of the board of directors for the Harris County Appraisal District 'as set forth below: I. The number of directors which shall comprise the Board of Directors of the Harris County Appraisal District shall be nine (9) . II. The method of selecting the members of the board of di- rectors shall be as follows: (a) The voting entitlement of a taxing unit that is entitled to vote for directors is determined by relative population. The authority for determining the voting entitlement of cities and the county shall be the most current United States Bureau of Census pop- ulation figures. The authority for determining the voting entitle- ment of school districts shall be the most current Gross Average Daily Attendance fieures as published by the Texas Education Agency in the Directory of Public Schools. Votes shall be apportioned to each taxing unit entitled to vote based on the following scale: Taxing Unit Population or Average Daily Attendance City, County Votes School Districts Vo"tes 1-5,000 5,001-15,000 15,001-30,000 30,001-50,000 50,001-75,000 75,001-105,000 105,001-140.000 140,001-180,000 180.001-225,000* 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 *TheCounty and cities or school districts having populations or average daily attendances in excess of 225,000 shall accrue one additional vote for each 50.000 above 225,000. A taxing unit participating in two or more districts is entitled to vote in each district in which it participates. but only the population in a district is used to calculate the voting entitle- ment in that district.
