<br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE NORTHERNMOST lWO
<br />HUNDRED (200') FEET OF THE SOUTH 11TH STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY BElWEEN BLOCKS
<br />143 & 144, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH
<br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been requested by record owner of all of
<br />the property abutting the hereinafter described portion of the South 11th Street Right -of-Way between
<br />Blocks 143 & 144, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, to vacate, abandon, and pennanently close the
<br />hereinafter described portion of the South 11th Street Right-of-Way between Blocks 143 & 144, Town of
<br />
<br />La Porte, Harris County, Texas; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has detennined and does hereby fmd,
<br />detennine and declare that the hereinafter described portion of the South 11th Street Right-of-Way between
<br />
<br />Blocks 143 &, 144, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the
<br />
<br />public as a public road, street and alley, and the closing of the hereinafter described portion of the South
<br />
<br />11th Street Right-of-Way between Blocks 143 & 144, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, is for the
<br />
<br />protection of the public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described portion of
<br />the South 1111I Street Right-of-Way between Blocks 143 & 144, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas,
<br />
<br />should be vacated, abandoned, and pennanently closed; and
<br />
<br />Bi IT OIIDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:

<br />Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City of La Porte under its Home Rule
<br />
<br />Charter and Chapter 253, Section 253.001, Texas Local Government Code, the hereinafter described
<br />portion of the South 11th Street Right-of-Way between Blocks 143 & 144, Town of La Porte, Harris
<br />
<br />County, Texas, is hereby pennanentIy vacated, abandoned and closed by the City of La Porte, to wit:
<br />
<br />Tbat portion of the South 11111 Street Right-of-Way, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, lying
<br />and being situated between Lots 1 through 8, Block One Hundred Forty Three (143) and Lots 25-32,
<br />Block One Hundred Forty Four (144), Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, and lying and being
<br />situated betWeen the south right-of-way line of West "F'" Street, and the extension of a line from the
<br />south line 01 Lot 8, Block 143, Town of La Porte to tbe south line of Lot 25, Block 144, Town of La
<br />Porte, Harris County, Texas, and containing 12,000 square feet.
