<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97- 2172 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE IV, SECTION 25-64, OF THE <br />CODE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE BY ADDING RESTRICTIONS ON <br />THE PARKING OF TRUCKS BEARING A DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />PLACARD; FURTHER AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE V, SECTIONS 25-81, 25- <br />84, 25-84.1, 25-85 AND 25-89 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE BY ADDING TRUCK ROUTES TO THOSE DESIGNATED WITHIN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, REAFFIRMING RESTRICTIONS ON LOCATION OF TRUCK <br />TERMINALS, ADVISING DESIGNATION OF TRUCK ROUTES WHICH <br />ACCURATELY REFLECT STREET NAMES, REVISING DESIGNATION OF <br />HAZARDOUS CARGO ROUTES; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE <br />TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR <br />AND SHALL UPON CONVICTION BE FINED AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00); CONTAINING SEVERABILITY AND REPEALING <br />CLAUSES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 25, Article IV, Section 25-64, of the Code of Ordinances of <br /> <br />the City of La Porte is hereby amended to hereinafter read as follows, to wit: <br /> <br />"Section 25-64. <br /> <br />Parking time limit for trailers, semi-trailers, etc. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to leave stand, or park a trailer, <br />semi-trailer, pole trailer, ranch trailer, boat, house trailer, utility trailer, or <br />truck tractor, either attached or unattached to a motor vehicle, on the <br />public streets of the City for a period of time in excess of four (4) hours, or <br />during any nighttime (as defined herein) hours. Trucks bearing a <br />Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) placard shall not be parked on any <br />street for a period of time in excess of one (1) hour. A placard vehicle <br />shall not be parked within 2,000 feet of a school campus." <br /> <br />Section 2. Chapter 25, Article V, Sections 25-81, 25-84, 25-84.1, 25-85 and <br /> <br />25-87, and 25-89 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte is hereby amended <br /> <br />to hereinafter read as follows, to wit: <br />
