<br />... <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />100 8. ~ ~ y <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The La Porte City Council finds it in the best interest of the <br />citizens of La Porte to receive assistance, support and education about Victims' <br />Assistance Programs with the acceptance of a Victims' Assistance Discretionary <br />Grant made possible through an appropriation by the 77th Legislature to the <br />Attorney General's Office, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has considered the submission of the <br />application to the Attorney General's Office for the funding of a full- time <br />position of a Victims' Assistance Liaison in the amount of $66,666.00 for a <br />20 month period, and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City of La Porte will receive a maximum of $62,003.00 for salary <br />for grant position and $8,326.00 for training and equipment from the Attorney' <br />General's Office with no required match or funds from the City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has agreed that in the event of loss' or misuse <br />of the $66,666.00 of the Attorney General's funds, La Porte City Council assures <br />that the funds will be returned to the Attorney General's Office in full. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, LaPorte City Council has agreed that the Victim Assistance <br />Discretionary Grant award will not be used to offset or decrease total salaries, <br />expenses, and allowances the City receives at or after the time the grant is <br />awarded. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFO~, BE IT RESOLVED that the La Porte City Council <br />approves submission for the grant application for the Office of the Attorney <br />General, Crime Victim Services Division in the amount of $66,666.00. <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br /> <br />Passed and Approved this :A ~ day of If un ~ <br /> <br />~(X),;J- <br />, . <br /> <br />'--i!t a1i#.4.,;I ffiJj(' <br />CIty lerk <br /> <br />?td~ <br />~- +0 {t.G'. <br /> <br />l .--....__..._.___. __._____. _.n ___. ... _ n__ _._ ____._ <br />
