Grab Sample - A sample which is taken from the waste stream on one <br />time basis without regard to the flow in the waste stream and without <br />consideration of time. <br /> <br />P. Indirect Discharge or Discharge - The introduction of a non-domestic <br />pollutant into the POTW from any non-domestic source regulated under <br />Section 307 (b), (c ) or (d) of the act. To deposit, conduct drain, emit, <br />throw, run, and allow to seep or otherwise release or deposit of, or to <br />allow permit or suffer any of these acts or emissions. <br /> <br />Q. Industrial User or User - An industry or business which discharges <br />wastewater into the City's wastewater treatment plant. A source of direct <br />discharge, <br /> <br />R. Industrial Waste Questionnaire - The document provided by the City to all <br />applicants on which basic information and data are placed describing the <br />applicant's production process, raw materials, and other information as <br />deemed necessary by the City to accurately assess the nature of any <br />potential waste discharges, <br /> <br />S. Industrial Wastes - All water-borne solids, liquids, or gaseous wastes <br />resulting from any industrial, manufacturing, or food processing operation <br />or process, or from the development of any natural resource, or any <br />mixture of these with water or domestic sewage distinct from domestic <br />sewage. <br /> <br />T, Instantaneous Maximum Allowable Discharge Limit - The maximum <br />concentration (or loading) of a pollutant allowed to be discharged at any <br />time, determined from the analysis of any discrete or composite sample <br />collected, independent of the industrial flow rate and the duration of the <br />sampling event. <br /> <br />U, Interference - A discharge which alone or in conjunction with a discharge <br />or discharges from other sources: <br /> <br />1,) inhibits or disrupts the POTW , its treatment process or operations <br />or its sludge processes, use or disposal; and <br /> <br />2.) therefore is a cause ofa violation of City's TPDES permit or of the <br />prevention of sewage sludge use or disposal in compliance with <br />any of the following statutory / regulatory provisions or permits <br />issued thereunder ( or more stringent state or local regulations) : <br />Section 405 of the Clean Water Act; the Solid Waste Disposal Act <br />( SWDA), including Title II ( Resource Conservation and <br />Recovery Act - RCRA; and State regulations contained in any <br />State sludge management plan prepared pursuant to Subtitle D of <br />the SWDA; the Clean Act; the Toxic Substances Control Act; and <br />the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act. <br /> <br />5 <br />
