Scope of Work <br />PHASE I-INVENTORY REVIEW / PUBLIC INPUT / NEEDS ANAL YSIS <br /> <br />The following elements will be used in developing an assessment of the needs of the <br />park and recreation system. <br /> <br />1.1 PROJECT INITIATION MEETING <br /> <br />HALFF ASSOC. staff will arrange a meeting in La Porte with appropriate city <br />staff. This ,meeting will accomplish several pre-planning objectives: <br /> <br />· Orientation. The City of La Porte and the primary team leaders of Halff <br />Associates will become familiar with the project team structure and <br />organization and arrive at a complete understanding of the roles and <br />responsibilities of all project participants. <br />· Schedule. The project schedule will be refined and mutually agreed <br />upon. <br />· Information exchange. At this meeting we will discuss all <br />documentation needs of Halff Associates. This will give the City an <br />opportunity to provide information or to provide Halff Associates <br />guidance in the securing of information not readily available at the time <br />of the meeting. <br />· Identify planning sectors - the city will be divided into planning sectors <br />based on available. demographic information and previous citywide <br />planning efforts. <br /> <br />Product - initial meeting with City of La Porte staff <br />Items Provided by City of La Porte- recommend staff to attend, attend <br />meeting, and provide data as required t~, begin planning process. <br /> <br />1.2 PREPARATION OF BASE MAPPING <br /> <br />Two levels will be illustrated, to ensure that the plan is comprehensive, yet <br />sufficiently detailed to serve as a future guide. The base mapping will be <br />prepared in a digital form (through incorporation and enhancement of existing <br />City of La Porte digital base mapping files). <br /> <br />. Regionallevel, including all areas in the City, as well as adjacent cities. <br />· City-wide level, including sectors established by the Comprehensive Plan <br />as provided by the City of La Porte in digital format. <br /> <br />La Porte Parks Master Plan/Recovery Action Plan <br />Hal" Associates Inc.
