The study encompassed the entire range of City communications equipment, services and <br />facilities, including: <br /> <br />. Microwave telephone and radio network <br />. VHF mobile and hand-held radio <br />. Data communications local and wide area networks <br />. Maintenance procedures and practices <br />. Dispatch centers <br />. Cost analyses <br />. PBX and key systems <br />. Building premise distribution cabling systems <br />. 9-1-1 systems <br />.. CAD systems <br /> <br />Recommendations accepted to date include the design and implementation of a new digital PBX with shared voice <br />mail and implementation of Ethernet local area networks utilizing intelligent networking hubs and the 10 Base- T <br />wiring standard, combined with installation of a citywide fiber optic network supporting both voice and data <br />, communications. Video transmission over the same network has been designed and will be implemented at a later <br />date. <br /> <br />RCC also conducted a radio communication needs assessment, developed system designs, a budgetary cost estimate, <br />Request for Proposals for a new citywide 800 MHz trunked radio system, and assisted the City in evaluating vendor <br />proposals and selecting a vendor for the new radio system. <br /> <br />RCC Consultants, Inc. <br />Selected Projects <br /> <br />Rev. 51310O <br />
