Y., the swn ot FIVE HUNDRlID DOLLARS in lawful money of the United states ot Amerioa, with interest thereon trom date hereot at the rate ot six per cent per amwn, interest payable April 10, 1932, and semi-annually thereafter on October 10 and April 10 each year, which interest shall be evidenced by coupons attached to each ot said warrants, Principal and interest shall be pa,yable upon presentation and surrender of warrant or proper coupon at the above named bank. In event the sum ot money evidenced by this warrant and annex:ed coupons shall not be paid at maturity, the same shall thereafter bear interest at the rate ot 6~b par annum until tully paid; and in the event of detault and it becomes necessary tor the holder hereot or ot any ot the coupons attached hereto to place the same in the hands ot an attorney tor collection or to institute suit thereon, the City of La Porte hereby obligates itselt to pay to the holder an additional ten per cent as attorney's tees. This warrant is one ot a series ot five warrants, numbered trom 1 to 5 inclusive, in the denomination ot $500.00 each, except :Number 1 tor $374.31, aggregating ~2,374.31, all ot which warrants are issued tor the :;urpose ot funding an equal amount ot indebtedness of the City ot La Porte duly and legally inourred tor lawful city purposes, the claims tor which were duly audited and allowed by the City Council ot said City prior to their issuance, and for which said City received full value and consideration and hereby aCknOWledges receipt ot same; and whioh evidenoes ot indebtedness were authorized by ordinanoes and orders duly and legally passed prior to their issuance, made and entered upon the Minutes of the City Council ot the City ot La Porte, Texas, and the holder hereof' shall and will be subrogated to all the rights and priVileges against said City had and possessed by the holders of said original evidences ot indebtedness, in accordanoe with the constitu- tion and laws of the State Of Texas, and pursuant to an ordinance passed by the City Council ot sa1d City ot La Porte, Texas, which ordinance is recorded in the Minutes of said Council.
