BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y OF LA PORt'E:' Seo1iion I: All persons, firms, oorpora1::ions or reoeivers furnishing or selling natural gas to domestic conswners within the city limits of the city of la Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall charge suoh dOJ!lestio oonsumers for domestic gas consumed the following rate for gas consumed and the follov:ing deposit fee for meter and re-connection charge, and no more: . Seven and one-half cen1::s (7-lt) per 100 cubic feet of natural gas actually oonsumed; provided, however, tha't a discount of one oent (lpt) per 100 cubio feet of natural gas so consumed shall be allowed eaoh custOt18r who pays for said gas so consumed w.i.thin ten ~s after the mailing by Company of a statement showing correc1::ly the amount cf gas oonsumed, which statement shall be properly addressed 1::0 the oonsumer at the address within the City of la Porte 'Where said oonsumer's meter is located. To each monthly bill for gas so sent out by Comp~, there shall be added the sum. of Fifty. Cents (SOpt) as a "ready to serve" charge. Five Dollars (tS.OO) initial deposit fee for meter. No fee shall be oharged tor conneotion provided, however, where service has been dis- continued'on account 01' non-p~ent of bill #1.00 fee for re-oonneotion may be oharged. Section 2: Domestio oonsumers as herein referred to shall include the folIO\\i.ng, and none others I 1: All those oonsumers using :rJ8.1::ural gas for heating, lighting and oooking in private hames, boarding houses and apartment houses, hospitals and charitable institutions, and those oonsumers using natural gas for lighting, cooking and 'Water heating anly in hotels, restaurants and stores, and tor heating in hotels .... ...... and building where the separate rooms are dependent on natural gas for heating purposes in grates and stoves. Seotion 3: The rates and fee' herein fixed shall take etfect and be in toroe on and after the date this ordinance is passed and approved acoording to law. Seo"t1.on-41 All ordinances and franohises heretofore passed and granted whioh are in confliot herewith are hereby emended to conform with and to be oontrolled by this ordinanoe. Section 5: There being a public emergenoy requiring that this ordinance ....... be passed finalq on the date of its introduction.. and the M~or having in writing -- declared the existence of suoh emergency and requested suoh passe.get this ordinance
