There lshereby levied and shall hereafter be assessed and collected for the year 1925 on all the taxable pro~erty in the City of La Porte, Texas, on t~e 1st day of January of thie the year 1925, an advalorem tax of and at the rate of One Dollar and Twenty Five Cents ($1.25) on the One Hundred Dollars (!lOO.OO) valuation of taxable property in said city, estimated in lawful currency of the United States, for current expenses and for the purpose of construc- tion or the purchase~of pUblic buildings, water works, sewers and other permanent improvements within the limits of the City of La Porte and fur the construction and improvements of the roads, bridges, and streets of said city within its limits.
