RATE OF ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS ($1.50) ON THE ONE HU~DRED ... DOLLARS AND Nol 100 ($100.00) VALUATION OF TAXABLE PROPERTY IN . SUC.H CI TY FOR CURRENT EXPENSES AND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING FOR BONDS FOR WATER WORKS SYSTEM AND OTHER IMPROVEME~TS WITHIN THE LIMITS of THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED by the City of La Porte, Texas: There is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for the year 1928 on all the taxable, property in the City of La Porte, Texas, on the l~t day of January of the year 1929, an ad valorem tax of and at the I' ate of One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) on the One Hundred Dollars and NO/100 ($100,00) valuation of taxable property i~ said City, estimated in lawful currency of the United States, for current expenses and for the purpose of paying for2bonds issued for the construction of water works system in the City of La, Porte; and for the purpose of paying for bonds issued oiCpaving done 'in the City of La 'Porte,'and for'the payment of warrants heretofore ,issued for the payment .of a fire engine and ~ hose for the 'City of La Porte; and for the payment of warrants heretofore issued for the paymen~ of certain sidewalk construction in the City of La Porte. There has heretofore been levied a tax of forty cents (40~) on the One HUndred Dollars and 'No/lOO ($100.00) valuation for' the payment of water works bond and this ordinance reduces that amount to thirty cents (~O~) on the One Hundred Dollars and No/I00 ($100.00) valuation to take care of said water,works bonds; there shall be levied for the year'1928, fourteen cents (14~) on the One Hundred Dollars and NO/lOO ,($100.00) valuation to take care of cert9:in bonds heretofore issued for certain paving in the City of-La Parte; there has been heretofore.....levied a tax of sixteen cents (16~) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valuation to take care of warrants hereto- fore issued for the payment of fire engine and hose; that smnunt is hereby reduced to seven cents (U~) on the One Hundred Dollars and NO/100 ($100~00) valuation for the year 1928; there shall be levied for the year 1928, nine cents (9~) on the One Hundred Dollars and' No/lOa' ($100..0.0) .-,"\1,a.luation..-:to. take care .of cert{l.in wa.rrants here- tofore issued for sidewalks in the City of La porte; said amounst of thirty cents' (30~) I, fourteen cents (14~), seven cents (7~), and nine cents (9~) on the One hundred Dollars and No/I00 ($100.00) valuatio:n to be set aside as a sinking fund to protect the indebt- edness incurred and fo~ which said assessments have been made.
