e e - - . e . , This bond is one of a series of twenty-five bonds, numbered consecutively from 1 to 25 ino1usive, in the denomina- tion of $1000 each, aggregating $25,000, issued for the ourpose of refunding an equal amount of existing indebtedness of the City of LaPorte, evidenced by warrants of said city, by cancel- ling thp. evidences thereof and issuing such rafunding bonds to the holders thereof, as authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State .of Texas, inoluding Chapt ers 1 and 7, Title 22, Revised C~vil Statutes of 1925, and in pursuance of an ordinance passed by the City Council of the City of LaPorte, which ordinance is of record in the Minutes of said Council. The date of this bond, in codormity with the ordinance above mentioned, is December 10, 1929. It is hereby certified and recited that the issuance of this bond and the series of which it is one is duly authorized by law and by a vote of the qualified pr0gerty tax paying voters of the City of LaPorte voting at an election held for that purpose on the 30th day of A~rl1, 1929; and that all acts, conditions and things required to be done Drecedent to and in the issuan~ of this aeries of bonds, and of this bond, have been properly done and performed and have happened in regular and due time, form and manner as required by law; thatsufficient and proper provision for the levy and collection of taxes has been made which when collected shall be appropriated exclusively to the payme~t of this bond and of the series of which it is a part and to the paymznt of the intorest coupons hereto annexed as the saQe shall become due; and that the total indebtedness of the City of ~aPorte, including the entire series of bonds of which this is one, does not exceed any constitutional or statutory 11~itation. In witness whereof the City of LaPorte, by its City Council, has caused its corporate eea~_ to be affixed hereto and this bond to be signed by its Mayor, countersigned by its City
