<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />,/ <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 260 <br /> <br />AN ORDnTANCE FIXING THE COMPENSAT ION OF TIIE THRF.E iJ..DERMF.:N TO BE <br /> <br />ELECTED IN APRIL~ 1937, PROVIDING V.iHEn SUCH COMPENSATIOn SHALL BE PAID AND THAT <br /> <br />SUCH COMPEJlJSATION SHALL BE PAID OUT OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY; REPEA1JUJG <br /> <br />ALL ORDINANCES AND PhRTS OF OHDI:NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN El\iER- <br /> <br />GE:NCY . <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS <br /> <br />CClUNI'Y, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Sec~ion 1. That the three aldermen to be eleoted at the generul elec- <br /> <br />~ion ~o be held in April~ 1937~ shall receive, as their compensation during their <br /> <br />term of office, ~he sum of Five Dollars ($5.00) each for euch regular mee~ing of <br /> <br />-bhf3 City Council of said City ~ not to eT-ceed two such meetings per month. <br /> <br />Section 2. That all the compensation provided for in this ordinance <br /> <br />shall be paid to the proper persons, by warre.nt drawn on the general funds of the <br /> <br />City of La Porte, on or after the first day of each Inonth follolving that for which <br /> <br />suoh compensation may be due. <br /> <br />Section 3. That all ordinanoes and resolutions and parts of ordinances <br /> <br />~nd/or resolutions heretofore passed, which are in conflict herewith, are hereby <br /> <br />repealed by this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 4. That an emergency exists constituting an imperative public <br /> <br />neoessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three several meetings <br /> <br />be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on its first reading; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />that this ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its pasoage and <br /> <br />". <br /> <br />approval, and it is so ordained. <br /> <br />Passed and approved this the <br /> <br />tI;- <br />,2 S- day of <br /> <br /> <br />~ A.
