That for the purpose of providing a budget for tho t'iscal year <br /> <br />beginning April 1, 1937 and ending :March 31, 1938, the sums set forth below be and <br /> <br />the same are hereby appropriated f.or the maintenanoe, operation and improvement of <br /> <br />"the government of' the City of La Porte, and the same shall be strictly applied f'or <br /> <br />.the several purposes and in the respective amounts hereinafter specified. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Counoil may transfer a sum from one item to an- <br /> <br />I)ther item within a fund, exoepting that the Debt Service Funds shall not be subjeot <br /> <br />'1;0 such alteration by the City Counoil; and that a sum may be transferred from one <br /> <br />:f.'und to another fund only on the authority of' an ordinance passed by the City Council. <br /> <br />Seotion 4. That the necessity for the continued maintenance, operation and <br /> <br />:I.mprovement of the govermnent of the City ot' La Porte creates an emergency whioh re- <br /> <br />quires that the budget shall become effective at once, that the rule requiring ordi- <br /> <br />nances to be read at three several meetings be suspended and that this ordinanoe be <br /> <br />- . <br />passed finally on its first reading and that this ordinance, therefore, shall take <br /> <br />.,t'fect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Passed and approved this the /'2I::t- day of <br /> <br />, A.
