The foregoing levies and assessments are <br />ilbased on the valuation of all taxable property in the City of <br />'La Porte, Texas, on January 1, 1942, amounting to the sum of One <br /> <br />; llillion Five Hundred Sixty-Four Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-TwO <br />I -- Dollar <br />I (~) 1.554.272.00 ) . <br />I Section 3. The fact that the best interest and general <br />! welfare of said City require this tax levy for the year 1942 in <br />: order that it may meet its obligations promptly constitutes and <br />creates an er'\ergency and an urgent public necessity requiring that <br />the rules providing for ordinances to be read at three several <br />I'meetings be ouspended and that this ordinance be passed as, and take <br /> <br />effect as, an emergency measure and such rules and provisions are <br /> <br />accordingly ouspended and this ordinance is passed and shall take <br /> <br />effect as an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effec <br />I immediately from and after its passage, and it is so ordained. <br />I () Passed and approved this the /.1-tk day of <br />.p.o~ ,.A.
