That the City Secretary and the Ctty Marshal <br />shall be allowed ten (10) working days vacation in such calendar <br />year, with compensation. The periods of such vacation shall be <br />fixed by the City Council. <br />That the compensations provided for by this Ordinance <br />shall not be paid either of such officers when he is absent from <br /> <br />his duties on account of illness, or any other cause, for more tha <br />, tuenty (20) working days during any calendar year, provided that <br />. such officor may apply his ten (10) days vacation against any ab- <br />sences. <br /> <br />Jection 6. That all compensation provided in this Ordi- <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />nance shall be paid to the proper persons, by warrant drawn on the <br />general funds of the City of La Porte, on or after the first day 0 <br />each month following that for which such compensation may be due, <br />unless otherwise directed from time to time by the City Council. <br />,3ection 7. That all Ordinances and resolutions and part <br />of Ordinances and/or resolutions heretofore passed, which are in <br />conflict herewith, are hereby repealed by this Ordinance. <br />Section 8. That if any section or part of a section, or <br />one or more sections of this Ordinance be declared to be invalid <br /> <br />such shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts hereof. <br />Section 9. That an emergency exists constituting an im- <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />perative public necessity that the rule requiring Ordinances to be <br />read at tbree several meetings be suspended and this ~rdinance tak <br />effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval, an <br /> <br />it is so ordained. <br /> <br />Passed and approved this the <br /> <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />A.
