<br />/ <br /> <br />'\ <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />J....- ... <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />./- <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. ---.--.. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE :NO. 316~ <br />All ORDINANCE PH OVIDING FOR rr,qPRISONl\!IENT IE JAIL FOR DE- <br />FENDANTS UNABLE TO PAY FINE AND COSTS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> <br />B.;J; IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PeR E, <br />TEXAS: THAT: <br /> <br />, <br />I' <br />I <br /> <br />Section 1: When a Defendant is convicted of a misde- <br />meanor in the Corporation Court of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br />and his punishment is assessed at a pecuniary fine and he is unabl <br />or refuses to pay the fine and costs adjudged against him he may, <br />for such time as will satisfy the judgment, be imprisoned in jail <br />in the City of La Porte, Texas for a sufficient length of time to <br />discharge the full amount of fine and costs adjudged against,him; <br />rating such imprisonment at $3.00 for each day thereof. <br />Section 2: The fact that there is now no City ordinance <br />providing for imprisonment and rate of credit for such imprison- <br />ment in defaUlt of payment of fine and costs in the Corporation <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Court of this City creates an imperative public necesuity that the! <br />rule requiring Ordinances to be read at three several meetings be <br />suspended and this ordinance take effect and be in force from and <br /> <br />after its passage and approval, and It is so ordained. <br />:assed and approved this the 57~ day of <br />A.
