" AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 339, SECTION 4, AND PROVIDING THEREIN A BASE CHARGE OF $1.00 PLUS A CHARGE OF 30% OF THE MONTHLY WATER BILL OF EACH USER OF THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte, upon re- view of its Ordinance No. 339, passed and approved on the 27th day of June, A. D., 1947, and upon due consideration find that such ordinance, especially Section 4, should be clarified and more concisely worded along with the think- ing of the present City Commission of the City of La Porte. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 4 of Ordinance 339 is hereby amended and henceforth shall be read as follows, to-wit: "Section 4. Hereafter, each person, firm or corporation using the Sanitary Sewer System of the City shall pay a monthly charge to the City for such service equal to thirty per cent. (30%) of their respective monthly water bills; such charge shall be made by the City monthly at the time the water bills are made and shall become due and payable at the times and with such month- ly water bills. On all monthly bills paid on or before the tenth day of the calendar month succeeding that for which the bill is rendered, the City shall allow a discount in the sum of ten per cent. (10%). All bills paid after the tenth day of the calendar month succeeding that for which such bill is rendered shall not be subject to such discount. In addition to the above described charge each such aforesaid user shall be charged a $1. 00 base fee against which the ten per cent. (10%) discount hereinabove referred to shall not apply, such charge shall henceforth appear on the monthly water bill. " This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. Passed and approved this the 5th day of October, 1961. /6J1~~ City of La Porte, Texas
