<br />, r>. <br />(~ \""~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 360 I <br />AN ORDIIlAJlCE APPOINTING THREE COMMISSIONERS TO THE BOARD OF : <br />EQUALIZATION FOR THE CITY OF LA POffilE, FIXING THE TIME OF THEIR I <br /> <br />I <br />MERPING, PRESCRIBING A COMPENSATION AND DECLARING AN :D1ERGENCY. /- ~ <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, has, by the use of its discretion, determined that ib would <br />be for the best interests of the City of La Porte to appoint a <br />Board of Equalization composed of three commissioners, each a <br />qualified voter, a resident, and a property owner of said City, <br />Now, Therefore, <br /> <br />. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Ray Shtpp <br />and W. D. Mayes <br /> <br />, Harry r'~al s to n <br />, each a quall- <br /> <br />fied voter, a resident and a property owner of the City of La <br />Porte, Texas, be, and they are hereby appointed as commissioners <br />on the Board of Equalization for the City of La Porte, Texas, for <br />the year 1948. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />Section 2. Said Board shall have all the powers, duties <br />I and authority as prescribed by law of this state for Boards of <br />Equalization. <br />Section 3. Before said Board enters upon its duties, it <br />shall be sworn to faithfully and impartially discharge all duties <br /> <br />incumbent upon it by law as such Board. <br />Section 4. Such BOard of Equalization shall hold its first <br /> <br />'\/\ <br />, ! <br /> <br />meeting at the City Hall in said City, at <br /> <br />9:00 A. V, the 10th <br /> <br />day of JuJ.:y <br /> <br />, A. D. 1948, and from time to time there~ <br /> <br />atter as may be nec~ssary to perform its duties. <br />Section 5. Each member ot such Board ot Equalization shall <br />be paid, out of the General Fund of said City, the sum of P'if- <br /> <br />teen <br /> <br />Dollars ($ 15.00 <br /> <br />) a day, or part thereot, de- <br /> <br />voted to the duties ot such Board of Equalization. <br /> <br />Section 6. If any section or part of a section, or one <br />l)r more sections of this Ordinance be declared to be invalid, such <br />IJhall not affect the validity of the remaining parts hereof. <br />
