If any sec~ion, sub-sec~ion, sentence, clause <br />or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconsti- <br />tutional, such unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity <br />of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The Board of Com- <br />missioners of the City of La Porte hereby declares that it would <br />have passed this Ordinance and each section, sub-section, sentence, <br />clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that anyone or <br />more sections, sub-section, sentence, clauses or phrases be de- <br />clared unconstitutionale <br /> <br />Section 42. As the City does not have any rule or Ordinance <br />requiring Ordinances to be read at more than one meeting, or that <br />same be passad on more than one reading, this Ordinance shall be- <br />come effective on the 1st day of October, A.
