<br />14 <br /> <br />5. Location of exit doorways. Exit doorways shall be so lo- <br />cated that no point in a floor area, room or space served by them is <br />more than 100 feet distant from an exit doorway, measured along <br />the line of travel; except that when a floor area is subdivided into <br />smaller areas, such as rooms in hotels, multifamily houses, and <br />office buildings, the distance from the door of any room, along an <br />unobstructed hallway, to an exit doorway, shall. be not more than <br />125 feet, except that hallways above the first story shall not extend <br />beyond an exit as a dead end more than 50 feet. Where the build- <br />ing is of fireproof construction or semifireproof construction, or the <br />building is sprinklered, the above distances may be increa~ed 50 <br />per cent. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.j <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />* As defined in Federal Specification SS-C-ISI b, Masonry Cement. <br /> <br />(b). Type of mortar required.
