<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />voting at said election, voted in favor of the issuance of the bonds <br /> <br />of said City in the following amounts and for the acquisition of the <br /> <br />following capital projects, to-wit: <br /> <br />$45,000 for constructing and equipping a fire station within and <br />for said City; <br />$15,000 for constructing improvements and repairs to the City Hall <br />within said City; <br />$355,000 for constructing and improving the roads, bridges and <br />streets of said City; <br />$75,000 for constructing improvements and extensions to the City's <br />waterworks system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of said City is of the opinion that <br /> <br />all $490,000 of said bonds should now be issued sold and delivered, <br /> <br />and is also of the opinion that all said bonds should be combined into <br /> <br />one issue of $490,000 permanent improvement general obligation bonds, <br /> <br />Therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1: That the bonds of the City of La Porte, Texas, be <br /> <br />.:.8sued in the aggregate principal amount of $490,000, to be known and <br /> <br />i':!signated as "CITY OF LA PORTE PERMANENT IMPROVEMENT GENERAL OBLI- <br /> <br />GATION BONDS, SERIES 1959", for the acquisition of capital projects, <br /> <br />to-wit: constructing and equipping a fire station within and for said <br /> <br />City, constructing improvements and repairs to the City Hall within <br /> <br />said City, constructing and improving the roads, bridges and streets <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />City, and constructing improvements and extensions to the <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />City's waterworks system, under and by virtue of the Constitution and <br /> <br />laws of the State of Texas, particularly Chapters 1 and 7 of Title <br /> <br />22, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, and the City <br /> <br />Charter of said Cit~ particularly Article VI thereof, and pursuant to <br /> <br />an election held in said City on the 15th day of August, 1959. <br /> <br />Section 2: That said bonds shall be dated September 15, 1959, <br /> <br />shall be numbered consecutively from 1 to 490, both inclusive, shall <br /> <br />be in the denomination of $1,000 each, aggregating $490,000, and shall <br /> <br />become due and payable serially on March 15th in each of the years <br /> <br />- 2 - <br />
