<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />of the 52nd Legislature, page 1095, Chapter 492, 1951 (Vernon1s <br /> <br />Annotated Texas statutes, Election Code, Article 6.01 through 6.10 <br /> <br />and 7.14 through 7.17), as far as applicable. <br /> <br />Voting machines shall be used at said election, and the ballot <br /> <br />for said election shall have written or printed thereon the follow- <br /> <br />ing: <br /> <br />OFFICIAL BALLOT <br /> <br />AMENDMENT NO. I <br /> <br />FOR amending Article II, Section 12, of the Home Rule Charter of <br /> <br />the City of La Porte, to provide that after the regular election on <br /> <br />the fourth Tuesday in April, 1960, the City Commission shall be <br /> <br />composed of a Mayor and four (4) Commissioners; that the two (2) <br /> <br />candidates for the offices of City Commissioner receiving the first <br /> <br />and second highest number of qualified votes at such election shall <br /> <br /> <br />e declared elected for a term of two (2) years; providing that the <br /> <br />two (2) candidates receiving the third and fourth highest number of <br /> <br />ualified votes at such election shall be declared elected for a <br /> <br />erm of one (1) year; and providing for a special election in the <br /> <br />vent of a tie in the fourth highest number of votes; providing tha <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor and two (2) Commissioners shall be elected on the fourth <br /> <br />uesday of April, 1962, and each even-numbered year thereafter; pro <br /> <br />iding that two (2) Commissioners shall be elected on the fourth <br /> <br />uesday of April, 1961, and each odd-numbered year thereafter; pro- <br /> <br />iding that the four (4) positions on the City Commission shall be <br /> <br />equent elections all candidates for City Commissioner <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />shall be voteki <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />umbered One (I), Two (2), Three (3) and Four (4), and at all sub- <br /> <br />I <br />~on and elected separately for positions on said <br />M <br />Jr1 <br />!~ <br />ilAGAINST <br /> <br />ij <br />: ~ <br /> <br />City Commission. <br /> <br />amending Article II, Section 12, of the Home Rule Charter <br />
