<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />... . ,"". <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.;:. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- 2 - <br /> <br />canvassed the votes and returns of the City Election held <br /> <br />on the l.j,th rfuesday in April", 1960", on the proposecJ. amendment <br /> <br />to Article II", Section 12", of' the Home Rule Charter of the City <br /> <br />of La Porte", Texas", and declared the results of such election <br /> <br />to be as follows", to-wit: <br /> <br />For the amendment - <br /> <br />53/ vob:;s; <br />/..31' votes; and <br /> <br />Against the amendment - <br /> <br />\,.mERSAS, the City Commission declared that the said amend- <br /> <br />ment was approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon <br /> <br />at the said City Election", and such amendment has become a part <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />of the Home Hule Charter> of the Ci ty of La Porte; and <br /> <br />l;!1r~;nEAS, the newly adopted amendment provides for s tagr;ered <br /> <br />terl:1S of' office ror the commissioners elected", according to the <br /> <br />number of votes received; no'!;; therefore <br /> <br />B;:= IT ORDAINED BY TH.E CI1"7 COIvI1USSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />H. P. Pfeiffer isclected to the office of Mayor", and in <br /> <br />accordance with the provision of the Charter Amendment, his <br /> <br />tenure of office shall be I' 01" a term of two (2) years. <br /> <br />H. A. S tabs is e lec ted to the office of City COfnmissioner, <br /> <br />and in accordance with the provision of the Charter Amendment"' <br /> <br />his tenure of office shall be for a term of two (2) years. <br /> <br />Tom Osburn is elected to the office of City Commissioner, <br /> <br />and in accordance with the provision of the Charter Amendment, <br /> <br />his tenure of office shall be for a term of two (2) years. <br /> <br />Dennis Dunham is elected to the office of City Commissionc.::c", <br /> <br />and in accordance with the provision of the Charter Amendment"' <br /> <br />his tenure of office shall be for a term of one (1) year. <br /> <br />Odell L.
