<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />THENCE Southerly along the Western Boundary of LaPorte <br />Independent School District across Spencer Highway to a point <br />for corner in the South right-of-way line of Spencer Highway; <br /> <br />THENCE Easterly along the South right-of-way line of Spencer <br />Highway to the Place of Beginning. <br /> <br />TRACT NO.2: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Outlot 481, said point <br />being the Southeast corner of City of Houston 100' strip in <br />the North city limits line of the City of LaPorte as of <br />June 1, 1960; <br /> <br />THENCE Westerly along the North line of Outlots 481 - 490, <br />inclusive, to a point in the East line of Underwood Road <br />for corner; <br /> <br />THENCE Southerly along the East ROW line of Underwood Road <br />a distance of 10' to a point for corner; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />THENCE Easterly along a line 10' south of and parallel to <br />the North line of Outlots 490-481, inclusive, to a point in <br />the East line of said Outlot 481 for corner; <br /> <br />THENCE Northerly along the East line of Outlot 481 a distance <br />of 10' to the Place of Beginning. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the limits of the City of LaPorte shall <br /> <br />remain unchanged except as may be modified herein by discontinuing <br /> <br />from the limits of the city the territory described in Section 1 <br /> <br />hereof. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That it is the intention of the governing <br />body of the City ofLaPort~o disannex only such territory as may <br /> <br />be properly discontinued and disannexed by it, and should any portion <br /> <br />of this ordinance be declared to be void and unenforcible and should <br />~ any portion of the area sought to be disannexed not be subject to <br />disannexation by the City of LaPorte, the remaining portions of <br /> <br />said territory and the remaining provisions of said ordinance shall <br /> <br />remain in full force and effect. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That the City Commission of the City of LaPorte <br /> <br />in the exercise of its discretion has concluded that the above <br /> <br />described area, being vacant and unimproved land consisting of more <br /> <br />than ten acres, and being subject to disannexation under the pro- <br /> <br />visions of Art. 973 of Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes, should be <br /> <br />discontinued and disannexed for the benefit of the inhabitants of <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />said city. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
