<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- 2 - <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of La Porte has heretofore adopted a Home <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Rule Charter authorizing it to annex territory and to extend the corporate <br /> <br />limits of said City by action of the City Commission; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hereinafter described land is adjacent to the pres- <br /> <br />ent city limits of the City of La Porte and the members of the City Commis- <br /> <br />sion of the City of La Porte have concluded that said area should be annexed <br /> <br />and made a part of the City of La Porte, Texas; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COlVIMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the following described territory be and the same <br />. is hereby annexed to the City of La Porte, Texas, and the boundary limits <br />of the City of La Porte be, and the same are hereby extended to include the <br /> <br />following described territory within the city limits of the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said <br /> <br />City, and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and <br /> <br />privileges of other citizens of the City of La Porte, and they shall be bound <br /> <br />by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said City. That the <br /> <br />territory to be so annexed is more particularly described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />BEGINNING on the present City Limit line of the City of <br />La Porte, at the intersection of the center line of West <br />Madison Street (formerly known as North D Street) and <br />the West right-of-way line of North Second Street; <br /> <br />THENCE in a Northerly direction along the West right- <br />of-way line of North Second Street to the point where <br />the West right-of-way line of said North Second Street, <br />extended in the same direction, intersects with North <br />right-of-way line of the T. & N. O. Railroad (also known <br />as the G. H. & S. A. Railroad); <br /> <br />THENCE in a Northwesterly direction along the North <br />right-of-way line of the said T. & N. O. Railroad to the <br />point where the same intersects with the East boundary <br />line of the Town of Lomax, Texas; <br /> <br />THENCE in a Northerly direction along the East boundary <br />line of the Town of Lomax, Texas, to the Northeast cor- <br />ner of the said Town of Lomax; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />THENCE in a Westerly direction along the Northernmost <br />boundary line of the said Town of Lomax extended, to the <br />point where the same intersects with the Northerly right- <br />of-way line of Texas State Highway 225 (also known as <br />Houston - La Porte Road); <br />
