Railroad, to the point where the said imaginary line intersects with the East right-of-way line of North First Street of the City of La Porte, extended; THENCE in a Southerly direction along the East right-of- way line of the said North First Street extended, and along the East right-of-way line of the said North First Street, to the center line of the said West Madison Street, the same being on the present City Limit line of the City of La Porte; THENCE in a Westerly direction along the present City Limit line of the City of La Porte, to the Place of Beginning. SECTION 2. The City Commission of The City of La Porte hereby reserves and preserves the rights, powers, duties and effect of prior ordi- nances and in no way releases nor relinquishes any part or portion of the territory therein annexed. SECTION 3. Should any portion of the territory sought to be annexed herein not be subject to annexation by the City of La Porte, then it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of La Porte to annex only such portion of said area as may be legally subject to annexation by the City of La Porte, and the fact that a portion of said area may not legally be subject to annexation by said City shall not affect the validity of the annexation of
