Rule Charter authorizing it to annex territory and to extend the corporate ... -- limits of said City by action of the City Commission; and, WHEREAS, the hereinafter described land is adjacent to the pres- ent city limits of the City of La Porte and the members of the City Commis- sion of the City of La Porte have concluded that said area should be annexed and made a part of the City of La Porte, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That the following described territory be and the same '. is hereby annexed to the City of La Porte, Texas, and the boundary limits of the City of La Porte be, and the same are hereby extended to include the following described territory within the city limits of the City of La Porte, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said City, and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of La Porte, and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said City. That the territory to be so annexed is more particularly described as follows, to-wit: . BEGINNING at the intersection of the North Right-of-way line of Strang Road with the North Right-of-way line of Texas State Highway No. 225, also known as Houston - La Porte Road; .~~. .-" .-.... THENCE in an Easterly direction along the North Right- of-way line of Strang Road a distance of 2,610 feet, more or less, to an iron rod for corner; THENCE North 00 07' West, a distance of 801 feet, to an iron rod for corner; THENCE East, a distance of 1, 087. 64 feet to an iron rod for corner in the West property line of a Houston Lighting & Power Company 8.504 acre tract of land, as recorded in Volume 2643, Page 151, of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas; .------- " "- .
