O. Railroad; THENCE in a Southeasterly direction along an imaginary line 100 feet distant from, parallel to, and North of the North right-of-way line of the said T. & N. C. Railroad, to the point where the said imaginary line intersects with the East right-of-way line of North First Street of the City of La Forte, extended; THENCE in a Southerly direction along the East right-of- way line of the said North First Street extended, and along the East right.-of-way line of the said North First Street, to the center line of the said Vvest IvIadison Street, the sar;.1.e being on the present City Limit line of the City of La Porte; THENCE in a V/esterly direction along the present City Limit line of the City of La Porte, to the Place of Beginning. SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby reserves and preserves the rights, powers, duties and effett of prior ordi- nances and in no way releases nor relinquishes any part or portion of the territory therein annexed. SECTION 2-. Should any portion of the territory sought to be annexed herein not be subjeci: to annexation by the City of La Forte, then it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of La Forte to annex only such portion of said area as may be legally subject to annexation by the City of La forte, a.nd the fact tha~ a portion of said area may not legally be sub- ject to annexation by said City shall not affect the validity of the annexation of the remaining portions of said territory, it being the intention of the City Commission to annex all or such portions of the above described area as it may legally annex. SECTICN 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage.
