"', number of votes have been polled for the office of Commissioner, Position <br /> <br />. Number 2, a certificate of election, and the Mayor shall immediately there- <br /> <br />after deliver to the candidate for whom the greatest number of votes have <br /> <br />been polled for the office of Commissioner, Position No.4, a certificate of <br /> <br />election, and such elected officials shall assume their duties within ten (10) <br /> <br />days thereafter, Sundays excluded. <br /> <br />Section 5. Notice of said election shall be given by publica- <br /> <br />tion in the La Porte Liberal, not less than thirty (30) days prior to the date <br /> <br />of the said election, of the following notice: <br /> <br />"NOTICE OF ELECTION" <br /> <br />. ..----....., <br />, <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />I, H. P. Pfeiffer, Mayor of the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, <br />do hereby order that an election be held in the said <br />City of La Porte, Texas, on the 24th day of April, <br />1962, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two <br />(2) Commissioners of said City, and that said elec- <br />tion shall be held at the City Hall in said City between <br />seven o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock P. M. on said <br />date, and the following named persons are the appoint- <br />ed officials of said election, to-wit: <br /> <br />Judge <br /> <br />Mrs. H. M. Ralston <br /> <br />Assistant Judge <br /> <br />Mrs. Otis Harrison <br /> <br />Assistant Judge <br /> <br />.~- .-- -...... <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mrs. Lois Compton <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mrs. Rex Baker <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mrs. <br /> <br /> <br />H. P. <br /> <br />and further notice of said election shall be given by posting a copy of this <br /> <br />ordinance at the City Hall for thirty (30) days next preceding said election. <br /> <br />Section 6. Upon a candidate tendering his application on the <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />form prescribed, the City Clerk shall furnish to such candidate all informa- <br />tion relative to the qualifications for the office being sought; the method of <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'- ..'" <br /> <br />placing the candidate's name on the ballot; the amount of the required filing <br /> <br />fee; and any other pertinent information concerning said election. <br />
