Owners of multiple dwelling units as defined in <br /> <br />Paragraph Two may choose to have a single meter for the purpose of supply- <br /> <br />ing water to all units. In the event such owner so chooses, owner shall pay <br /> <br />the additional cost necessary for the larger meter if one is required. The <br /> <br />size of the meter shall be established by the City Engineer. The following <br /> <br />water rates shall apply to such single meter installations at multiple dwell- <br /> <br />ing units: <br /> <br />I., <br />.... - <br />: f. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be charged for'Two Thousand <br />(2,000) gallons for each unit rented during the month for <br />so much as a single day; <br /> <br />Seventy- Five Cents (75~) shall be charged for each One <br />Thousand (1, 000) gallons used over and above the mini- <br />mum up to Three Thousand (3,000) gallons above the <br />minimum; <br /> <br />Fifty Cents (50~) shall be charged for each additional <br />One Thousand (1, 000) gallons used up to and including <br />an additional Five Thousand (5,000) gallons; <br /> <br />Forty Cents (40~) shall be charged for each additional <br />One Thousand (1,000) gallons used up to and including <br />an additional Forty Thousand (40,000) gallons; <br /> <br />Thirty Cents (30~) shall be charged for each additional <br />One Thousand (1, 000) gallons used. <br /> <br />Any such owner so choosing this method of water metering <br /> <br />shall be charged with a sewer bill of thirty per cent (30%) of the total water <br /> <br />bill in addition to the water charges. <br /> <br />In addition the City shall charge One Dollar {~~. 001 for garbag~ <br /> <br />~rvic~ and bill the owner on the monthly water bill. Each rental unit rented <br />for so much as one day during the month shall be the basis for an additional <br />One Dollar ($1. 00) garbage service charge. <br /> <br />The City shall make such charges set out above on the basis of <br /> <br />one hundred per cent occupancy unless the owner ~akes affidavit on or before <br />the second day of each calendar month setting forth the maximum number of <br />units rented on anyone day during the preceding month and delivers said <br /> <br />affidavit to the City Clerk of the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />Section 4.
