". , ....~ ..' <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZiNG SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE <br />COMPANY TO DISCONTINUE FOUR-PARTY RESIDENCE SERVICE IN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the numb,er of residence four -party customers in <br /> <br />the City of La Porte has dw~ndled to the point where it has become <br /> <br />practically impossible to associate four customers on anyone line be- <br /> <br />cause such customers are widely scattered, and it is no longer eco- <br /> <br />nomically feasible to furnish four -party service; and <br /> <br />'.'- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has requested <br /> <br />the City of La Porte to authorize the elimination of four-party residence <br /> <br />service; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1: The request of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company <br /> <br />to eliminate four-party residence service is hereby approved, and said <br /> <br />four-party service customers shall be converted to one or two-party ser- <br /> <br />vice as rapidly as practicable. <br /> <br />Section 2: Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed now or <br /> <br />.
