ORDINANCE NO. 664-A <br />Page 1 d"f 2 . <br /> <br />......--..... <br />'e <br /> <br />,.~ <br />.':.'. <br /> <br />.~ <br />. <br /> <br />~, <br />.' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6 t L; 1/ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECfIONS 39 and 40 OF ORDINANCE <br />NUMBER 664. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on the 18th day of January, 1963, the City Commission <br />of the City of La Porte adopted Ordinance Number 664, popularly known <br /> <br />as "La Porte Electrical Code,j. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has deter- <br /> <br />:q1ined that Sections 39 and 40 of said Ordinance Number 664 are not satis- <br /> <br />factory and that they should be amended; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 39 and 40 of Ordinance Number 664 as adopted <br />on the 18th day of January, 1963, contain the following words: <br /> <br />Section 39. THE ELECTRIC PUBLIC SERVICE CONIPANY shall <br />never require the placing of meters on the front of the building <br />or .street side of a building, without written consent of the owners, <br />and where riot practical in the opinion of the Chief Electrical In- <br />spector ~o place metering devices on the exterior of the building, <br />said location shall be at a point, or points, convenient to the <br />electric public service company's service as determined by the <br />Chief ~lectrical Inspector. <br />..1 <br />Section 40. THE POINT OF ATTACHMENT OF SERVICE DROP <br />CONDUCfORS shall be at the highest practical point but in no <br />instance less than ten (10) feet or more than twenty-five (25) <br />feet above mean ground level unless a greater height is necessary <br />to obtain the required clearance; except on buildings not high <br />enough to permit a point of attachment of at least ten (10) feet <br />above mean ground level, the point of attachment shall be as <br />high as possible but no less than eight (8) feet above mean ground <br />level with no exposed conductors within eight and one-half (8 1/2) <br />feet and the point of service drop attachment shall in general be <br />six (6) inches below the service head. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMlSSION OF <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE, THAT: <br /> <br />Sections 39 and 40 of Ordinance Number 664 are hereby amended and shall <br /> <br />contain the following words: <br /> <br />Section 39.
