II <br />BY INCREASING THE ELECTRICAL BOARD FROM THREE MEMBERS TO FIVE <br />MEMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY "THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Ordinance No. 664 of the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />passed and approved on 'January 18, 1963, popularly known as <br /> <br />"City of La Porte Electrical Code", is hereby amended to read <br /> <br />as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />"Section 1. . :Electrical Board. There is hereby created an <br /> <br />Electrical Board, which shall consist of five members. The five <br /> <br />members of the Board shall be'appointed by the Mayor and confirmed <br /> <br />by the City Commission. Each of said five positions shall be <br /> <br />numbered. <br /> <br />"Position No. 1 shall be filled by an electrical engineer <br />in the employ of a Public Utility Company. <br />"Position No. 2 shall be filled by a member of the City <br /> <br />Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas. <br /> <br />"Positions No. 3 arid 4 shall each be filled by a Master <br /> <br />Electrician, .licensed in the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />"Position No.5 shall'be filled by the City Attorney of <br /> <br />the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />liThe first appointment to the Electrical Board created <br /> <br />hereby shall be made immediately after the final passage hereof, <br />and each appointee shall serve until April 30 of the next <br /> <br />even-numbered year, or until his successor has been appointed <br /> <br />and qualified. Appointments thereafter shall be made on or <br />after May l' of each even-numbered year, and shal~ take effect <br />from the date of appointment. All appointments except the first <br /> <br />shall be for a two-year period until April 30 of the next even- <br /> <br />numbered year, provided, however, each member of the Board shall <br /> <br />serve until his successor has been appointed and qualified.
