<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />....." . <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 664-1 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32 OF ORDINANCE 664, BY ADOPTING <br />THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, 1962 EDITION, 1978 REVISION, AS THE <br />ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS; <br />PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE <br />SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY" OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION <br />SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />($200.00); CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. Ordinance No. 664 of the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />popularly known as the "City of La Porte Electrical Code", here- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />tofore passed and approved on the 18th day of January, 1963, is <br /> <br />hereby amended, by amending Section 32, which shall hereafter <br /> <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 32. ADOPTION OF NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE: The regu- <br /> <br />lations and rules embodied in the National Electric Code, 1962 <br /> <br />Edition, 1978 Revision, and published by the National Fire Pro- <br /> <br />tection Association, a copy of which is on file in the office <br /> <br />of the City Clerk of the City of La Port~, is hereby adopted as <br />the rules and regulations to govern and be observed and followed <br /> <br />in all electric wiring and in all electrical construction, in- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />stallation, repair, alteration, operation and maintenance of <br /> <br />electric wiring, apparatus and fixtures, except insofar as they <br /> <br />may conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance. In the case <br /> <br />of conflict between the provisions of the National Electric Code <br /> <br />and the provisions of this Ordinance, the provisions of this <br /> <br />Ordinance shall prevail." <br /> <br />Section 2. This Ordinance shall be effective on November 1, <br /> <br />19 79, which is more than fourteen (l4) days after its passage <br />and approval. The City Clerk shall give notice of the passage <br /> <br />of this ordinance by causing the caption hereof to be published <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />in the official newspaper in the City of La Porte at least twice <br />within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance. <br />
