"r <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DEFINING GARBAGE, TRASH, AND REGULATING THE <br />KINDS AND SIZE OF RECEPTACLES IN WHICH TO PLACE SAME; THE <br />MANNER OF ITS PREPARATION AND WHERE IT MUST BE PLACED TO <br />BE COLLECTED; PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR COLLECTING SAME; <br />PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF GARBAGE OR ANY ARTICLE OR MATERIAL <br />IN STREETS AND ALLEYS; PROVIDING FOR SERVICE CHARGES; PRO- <br />HIBITING THE MEDDLING, SCATTERING OF CONTENTS, PILFERING OR <br />JUNKING; PROVIDING REGULATIONS AND CHARGES FOR USE OF CITY <br />GARBAGE DUMP; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN <br />TWO HUNDRED AND NOIIOO DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR VIOLATION OF <br />THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />., <br /> <br />Section 1. Definitions. This Ordinance shall be known as the "Gar- <br /> <br />bage and Trash 'Ordinance." The.following words andlor terms, as used <br /> <br />in this Ordinance, shall carry the meaning and intent as shown. <br /> <br />"Premises" as used in this Ordinance shall mean business <br /> <br />houses, boarding houses, offices, theaters, hotels, restaurants, cafes, <br /> <br />eating houses, tourist C()urts, apartments, rooming houses, schools, private <br /> <br />residences, vacant lots and all other places within the city where garbage, <br /> <br />trash or rubbish accumulates in ordinary quantities. <br /> <br />"Dry Kitchen refuse" means the solids after the liquid or <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />slop has been drained off. <br />"Kitchen garbage" means dry kitchen refuse, meat, vegetable <br />and fruit refuse, small dead animals and dead fowl from any premises. <br /> <br />"Rubbish" means tin can, bottles, glass, scraps of iron, <br /> <br />tin, wire or any other metals from any premises within the city limits. <br /> <br />"Trash" means papers of all kinds, rags, old clothing, paper <br /> <br />containers, old rubber, pieces of wood, boxes, barrels, crates, feathers, <br /> <br />weeds, grass and tree limbs, from any premises within the city limits. <br /> <br />Section 2. Container Specifications. It shall be the duty of every <br /> <br />person owning, managing, operating, leasing or renting any premises or <br />.~ any place where kitchen garbage accumulates to provide a portable garbage <br />
