<br />utilities, including bus terminals, railroad depots and terminals, whether
<br />

<br />public or privately owned, for water, lights, sanitation, sewage disposal,
<br />
<br />drainage, flood control, transportation, communication and shipping
<br />
<br />facilities, and for the removal, relocation, widening, extension, narrowing,
<br />
<br />vacation, abandonment or change of use of any of the foregoing public places,
<br />
<br />work buildings, facilities or utilities.
<br />
<br />(f) To select and recommend to the City Commission routes of
<br />
<br />streets, avenues and boulevards and particularly to investigate and
<br />
<br />recommend the opening, w~dening, or abandonment of streets, avenues,
<br />
<br />boulevards, and alleyways or the changing thereof to conform to the City's
<br />
<br />system, present and future, all streets, avenues, boulevards, alleyways
<br />
<br />e and parks.
<br />
<br />(g) To investigate, consider and report to the City Commission on the
<br />
<br />layout and plan of any new subdivision to the City of La Porte, or property
<br />
<br />situated within the Planning Area and to approve all plans, plats or replats
<br />
<br />of additions within the City Limits or within the Planning Area.
<br />
<br />(h) To recommend to the City Commission for adoption, rules and
<br />
<br />regulations governing plats and subdivisions of land within the corporate
<br />limits of the City or within the Planning Area to promote health; safety,
<br />
<br />moral and general ' welfare of the community, and the safe, orderly and
<br />
<br />e, healthful development of the community.
<br />
<br />(i) To recommend plans to the City Commission for improving,
<br />
<br />developing, expanding and beautifying the bayshore, beaches, parks, lakes
<br />
<br />and public buildings in or adjacent to the City and to coopera.t';e with the
<br />
<br />City Commission and other agencies of the City in devising, establishing,
<br />
<br />locating, improving, selecting, expanding and maintaining the public bay-
<br />
<br />shore, beaches, parks, playgrounds and lakes for public recreation.
<br />
<br />(j) To aid and assist the City Commission by recommending plans
<br />
<br />for the development of a Civic Center and to make investigations, consider
<br />
