'. e e ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION ON THE ISSUANCE OF TAX AND REVENUE BONDS THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HARRIS CITY, OF LA PORTE WHEREAS~ the City Commission of said City deems it advisable to issue the bonds of said City for the purposes hereinafter stated; and THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: 1. That an election shall be held in said City on .$ the ~day of April, 1965, at the City Hall, La Porte, Texas. 2. That a Presiding Judge and an Alternate Presiding Judge shall be appointed, and' the maximum number of Clerks which may be selected to serve at said election shall be fixed by the Mayor as provided by law. 3. That at said election the following Propositions shall be submitted in accordance with law: PROPOSITION NO. 1 Shall the City Commission of said City be authorized to issue the bonds of said City in. one or more series or issues, in the aggregate principal amount of $400,000, with the bonds of each such series or issue, respectively, to mature serially in not to exceed 30 years ~rom their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed 5% per annum, for the purpose of improving the streets of said City; and shall said City Commission be authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and collected annual ad valorem taxes in an amount sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and provide a sinking ~und to pay said bonds at maturity?
