<br />THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE~ AND APPOINTING
<br />THE COMMISSIONERS TO TERMS AS MAYOR 'PRO-TEM OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
<br />FOR THE PERIOD MAY 1, .1966, THROUGH APRIL 30, 1968, ,BOTH INCLUSIVE;
<br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.

<br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT:

<br />Se'ction 1. RUSSELL SHEPHERD, Commissioner., Position
<br />
<br />No.1, is he'reby appointed Health, ,Rec'reation and Sanrtat.fan
<br />Commissioner' of the, Ci,ty of La por.te,' ,and as :such Commissioner
<br />
<br />shall have all the 'powers and authority and the duties in the
<br />
<br />supervision of parks and other recreational facilities, the
<br />
<br />collec'tionand disposal of, garb~ge, ,r~cjulationof the 'City, garb~ge
<br />
<br />dump, control and elimination of mosquitoes' and other insects, by
<br />
<br />sprayi~g or ,otherwise, ,control of rodents, snakes, etc., by mowi~g
<br />of vacant property or otherwise, ,and the enforcement of ordinances
<br />
<br />pertaini~g to septic tanks.

<br />and authority and duties in the 'supervision of the 'construction of
<br />and maintenance of the streets, alleis, ditches and sidewalks.
