<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />I <br />j <br />I, <br />t; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />770 <br /> <br />l <br />1 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />COMPOSED OF THREE MEMBERS; SE'rrING THE DATE OF <br />ITS FIRST MEm'ING: AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS <br />AND DUTIES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The hereinafter named three residento <br /> <br />each of whom is a qualified voter and real property o\vner in <br /> <br />the City of La Porte, are hereby appointed to the Board of <br /> <br />Equalization for one-year term, or until their successors shall <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />have been appointed: <br /> <br />Frank Boyle. Jr. <br /> <br />c. R. Norris <br /> <br />w. A. Arthur <br /> <br />Section 2. Such Board of Equalization shall choose <br /> <br />from its membership a Chairman. The City Tax Assessor-Co11ector <br /> <br />shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Board. A majority of said <br /> <br />Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. <br /> <br />The Board of Equalization shall hold its first meeting at a time <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />to be set by it, on the <br /> <br />May 16, 1967 <br /> <br />, or as soon <br /> <br />thereafter as practicable. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Board of Equalization shall have all of <br />the powers and duties prescribed by Article VIII, Sections 76 <br /> <br />through 79, both inclusive, of the City Charter of the City of <br /> <br />La Porte. <br /> <br />Section 4.
